Position Summary
This position provides responsive 2nd Tier Technical Support to customers in solving product functionality problems in a 24 x 7 environment.
Responsibilities
- Respond to customer telephone and email queries; guide customer through necessary steps to resolution of issues
- Investigate and resolve hardware and software incidents; determine likely cause, recommend corrective action, and if appropriate, implement corrective action
- Resolve, forward, or escalate customer issues as required
- Review urgent incidents with Tier 3 support staff to insure appropriate steps are taken to resolve situation in a timely manner
- Keep customers informed of problem resolutions
- Maintain incident status and resolution records
- Interface with Software Development and Quality Assurance teams on reliability and maintenance matters
- Make recommendations regarding technical support procedures
- Monitor systems and resolve issues pro-actively
- Provide PC and network support and administration to internal user base
- Develop procedural and diagnostic documentation
- Install tested upgrades on customer and production environments
- Other Technical Support related tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- Must be able to work rotating 12 hour shifts (weekends included)
- Service oriented and solution driven with strong problem investigation skills
- Working experience in a team support environment
- Successful completion of a post-secondary degree or diploma in computer science or technology (or equivalent)
- Ability to work independently, prioritize, and communicate effectively
- Working knowledge of web-based solutions
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, addressing, and routing as well as communication protocols
- Proficiency with operation and support of Linux and MS Windows OS
- Knowledge of shell scripting, databases, remote desktop solutions, printer configurations, and Cisco products is a definite asset

Position Summary
Reporting to the Build and Software Configuration Manager, the Build and Software Configuration Specialist is expected to provide responsive support and coordination of activities related to packaging and configuration of Navtech software.
Responsibilities
- Improve current Navtech build environment and delivery mechanism for entire software code base
- Investigate and implement new technologies related to improving the software build and release process
- Support and Improve Build-On-Demand System
- Ensure that only approved and properly qualified updates enter builds
- Maintain/Create documentation for applications, tools, or systems as required
- Configure and administer version control system
- Configure and administer issue tracking system
- Deploy various systems, tools and applications (including installation and testing)
- Monitor release and build standards for the software department
- Ensures enforcement of coding standards
- Communicate project/work status orally, written, or other as required
- Produce detailed accounting of project deliverables status for milestone reviews or as required
- Covers on-call rotations when required
- Keep very tight control over the machines that are used for testing the Navtech products
- Coordinate the setup of QA/Build servers
- Improve configuration and ease of support to QA/Build Systems for QA/Build
- Ensure documentation of the QA lab is up-to-date – including product configuration
- Support nightly builds to follow-up and provide notification of build breakages
- Support third party packages required by internal products
Qualifications
- Excellent Shell and Perl Programming Skills
- Experience with operation and support of UNIX/Linux, Windows Operating Systems
- Knowledge of other programming language environments (Fortran, Visual Basic, Java, ASP.net) is an asset
- Other Operating System knowledge is an asset
- Must work effectively and responsibly with others in a team environment
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, or equivalent Programming Certificate

Position Summary
Reporting the Manager, Information Technology, the Network Administrator will be the primary resource for designing, implementing and supporting Navtech’s local and wide area networks across the enterprise.
Responsibilities
- Architect, design, implement and maintain complex local and wide area networks based on Cisco and Nortel equipment
- Standardize documentation for current and future systems
- Expert installation, maintenance and support of hardware and software
- Setup and ensure functioning of network servers (Mail, DNS, Firewall, etc.)
- Provide desktop network, application and hardware support
- Provide support for Windows 2003 servers, and internal and productions MS Active Directories
- Maintain the company external web page and Intranet as webmaster
- Monitor Local and Wide Area Network bandwidth and perform optimization activities to enhance server and network performance proactively
- Provide third level network support for Navtech’s real time, 24 x 7 production network
- Administration of Nortel BCM400 phone switch
- Third-party vendor support
- Improvements to existing IT infrastructure as required
Qualifications
- University degree in Computer Science or related field
- Excellent communication, organization and teamwork skills in a fast-paced setting
- Strong Knowledge of networking hardware, Cisco certification an asset
- Hands on experience troubleshooting, configuring and installing Cisco hardware mandatory
- Network administration experience, including troubleshooting
- Linux administration experience, including common applications (Apache, sendmail, Joomla, etc.)
- Microsoft administration experience, including Server 2003, AD, Exchange, XPP, Office
- Knowledge of networking protocols. TCP/IP, BGP, IBGP, EICRP
- Knowledge of Frame relay, ISDN, PRI’s and surrounding technologies is mandatory
- Experience in Large WAN/LAN design and implementation
- Knowledge of network security hardware and protocols. VPN’s, SSL, Firewalls
- Knowledge of network monitoring and management tools. Nagios and Cisco Works experience preferred
- VMware ESX management experience
- Blade and SAN infrastructure management experience preferred
- Knowledge of WLAN an asset
- Three to five years of experience in a WAN/LAN support position

Position Summary
Reporting to Manager, Technical Services, the Installation Management Specialist is expected to provide responsive installation
support to customers in planning, configuring, and installing Navtech solutions.
Responsibilities
- Work with the Sales Team and Account Managers to install and customize solutions for new and existing Navtech customers in both Navtech hosted and on-site customer environments
- Provide input to Project Plans for installation tasks
- Configure, customize, install, and troubleshoot both internal systems and customer specific integrated solutions
- Interface with Software Development and Quality Assurance on reliability and maintenance matters
- Configure and install internal hardware and software components and solutions (IBM servers with modems, memory, disks, RedHat Linux, and Cisco routers)
- Create/Modify custom text-formatted menus and screens for Flight Planning products
- Hardware and software testing (network setup/troubleshooting, faxing, etc)
- Create/Modify user accounts - DispatchPro, Dispatch Express, Compass, WebFP
- Create and maintain scripts, programs, documentation, etc. to assist with installations
- Configuration, installation, and troubleshooting of production servers
- Assisting remote locations with technical tasks
- Installation of scheduled software maintenance releases
- Assist Technical Support Desk and Operations Support including on-call support
Qualifications
- Successful completion of a post-secondary degree or diploma in computer science or technology (or equivalent)
- Proactive, confident self starter with effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Must work effectively with others in a team environment

- Advanced proficiency with operation and support of Linux and MS Windows Operating Systems
