Department: Technical Services
Location: Waterloo, Ontario
Position Summary
This position provides responsive 2nd Tier Technical Support to customers in solving product functionality problems in a 24 x 7 environment.
Responsibilities
- Respond to customer telephone and email queries; guide customer through necessary steps to resolution of issues
- Investigate and resolve hardware and software incidents; determine likely cause, recommend corrective action, and if appropriate, implement corrective action
- Resolve, forward, or escalate customer issues as required
- Review urgent incidents with Tier 3 support staff to insure appropriate steps are taken to resolve situation in a timely manner
- Keep customers informed of problem resolutions
- Maintain incident status and resolution records
- Interface with Software Development and Quality Assurance teams on reliability and maintenance matters
- Make recommendations regarding technical support procedures
- Monitor systems and resolve issues pro-actively
- Provide PC and network support and administration to internal user base
- Develop procedural and diagnostic documentation
- Install tested upgrades on customer and production environments
- Other Technical Support related tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- Must be able to work rotating 12 hour shifts (weekends included)
- Must be proficient with the operation and support of Linux OS
- Service oriented and solution driven with strong problem investigation skills
- Working experience in a team support environment
- Successful completion of a post-secondary degree or diploma in computer science or technology (or equivalent)
- Ability to work independently, prioritize, and communicate effectively
- Working knowledge of web-based solutions
- Experience with TCP/IP, addressing, and routing as well as communication protocols
- Proficiency with operation and support of MS Windows OS
- Experience with shell scripting, databases, remote desktop solutions, printer configurations, and Cisco products is a definite asset

Department: Software Quality Assurance
Location: Waterloo, Ontario
Position Summary
The QA Automation Developer is responsible for the development, maintenance, and execution of test scripts. There is a combination of
both automated test tool development as well as automated and manual testing. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintenance
of testing tools, development of automated testing methods, documentation and reporting tasks. This position reports to the QA Manager.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop test cases and test scripts for multiple product lines
- Create and maintain automated testing tools and processes
- Working with the team to design and enhance the automation infrastructure to improve efficiency and scalability
- Investigate new approaches and technologies for automation feasibility
- Maintain focus on application function, system performance, capacity and stability
- Execute test cases and test scripts, document test results and track defects and communicate results to development teams and management
- Perform sanity, regression and new feature testing of new software releases
- Analyze project documents to identify test requirements
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or similar discipline
- Minimum five years of relevant experience in the software field
- Knowledge of C, C++ and/or Perl Programming
- Prior experience with automated testing and test automation tools required
- Preferred experience with Mercury QTP
- Knowledgeable in Web based and Client-Server environments
- Detail-oriented, well organized, and able to work with minimal supervision
- Proven ability to communicate and learn quickly while applying knowledge effectively
- Strong verbal and written communication skills

Location: Waterloo, Ontario
Position Summary
This position is responsible for the development, deployment, maintenance and support of various applications, systems, and tools.
The developer will assist with coding, testing and debugging of new software or enhancements to existing software to meet product
specifications. Assigned projects will be specified in moderate detail and of moderate complexity. The developer will work under
moderate supervision and continue to receive training on all aspects of the business.
Responsibilities
- Complete technical tasks of limited scope and complexity with little specification
- Maintain/Create documentation for applications, tools, or systems as required
- Deploy various systems, tools and applications (including installation and testing)
- Communicate project/work status orally, written, or other as required
- Covers on-call rotations when required
Qualifications
- Successful completion of University degree in Computer Science, or equivalent
- Minimum 2-3 years design experience in a dynamic IT working environment
- Excellent C, C++ and/or Perl Programming Skills
- Experience with operation and support of Linux Operating Systems
- Knowledge of one or more of Networking, UNIX Shell Scripting, Optimization, SQL, XML, Perl/CGI,
RDMS and GUI Development
- Advanced knowledge of multiple elements within focus product line
- Must work effectively with others in a team environment
