(1) Operating expenses, income from operations, net income and basic EPS for the three and six months ended April 30, 2003 include the recovery of a bad debt from a related party in the amount of $159,000.
Total revenue increased by 22% to $2.0 million for the second quarter of fiscal year 2004 from $1.7 million for the same quarter of last year. Revenue for the six months ended April 30, 2004 was $3.9 million, an increase of 19% from $3.3 million in the same period last year. Subscription-based recurring revenues accounted for 88% of total revenues in the first half of the fiscal year.
"Our investments in product development and geographic expansion are showing very positive results," said David Strucke, Navtech's President and Chief Executive Officer.
"We are very pleased with the customer response to our Crew Management and Scheduling products, and the continued growth of our European customer base for our signature dispatch software."
Net earnings for the quarter were $48,000, compared to $203,000 in same quarter of the prior year. Prior year net earnings included a $159,000 recovery of a bad debt from a related party.
Navtech secured an increase in its available operating line of credit to $500,000 when it renewed its banking facility with RBC Royal Bank in June.
Second Quarter Operational Achievements:
- PGA Portugalia (Portugal) selected Navtech's DispatchProTM and V1PlusTM products to automate its flight dispatch services.
- Islandsflug (Iceland) also contracted to use DispatchProTM for flight dispatch automation.
- TNT Airways (Belgium) initiated production use of DispatchProTM.
- Valuair (Singapore) has chosen Navtech�s WebFPTM and V1PlusTM, enhancing our presence in the Asia-Pacific Market.
- A new crew management system designed to manage schedule change requests was completed and installed at a North American low cost carrier, expanding Navtech's crew management product suite.
- North American regional airline Chautauqua Airlines began production use of Navtech's CygnusTM crew pairing optimizer.
- We completed the installation of C.G.PROTM, Navtech's weight and balance system, at Spirit Airlines (United States).
